Black Rock Nov. 13, 1938

The episode opens with a lot of noise. It's a plane running its engine. The pilot that is talking smuggles drugs in his plane. A guy named Burket is leaving with company funds. The pilot and another thug hit the guy trying to stop Burket from taking off.

The plane takes off. Next is the sound of a boat. There's heavy fog. One of the guys yells about wreckage off the port bow, the wreckage being from a plane. They bring the wing of the plane aboard to prove they found the plane. They know about the money that was stolen.

A newspaper seller yells about the plane being found at sea. Then the scene shifts to a car with Lamont and Margo. They are going to talk to the guy who tried to stop Burket from taking the money.

Harvey, he guy, doesn't think Burket is dead. No bodies were ever found. Lamont thinks the plane flew itself.

Lamont and Margo look around at the airport. The Shadow questions a guard. The guard is sleeping when the Shadow gets there. The guard admits to getting paid not to tell about the extra fuel tanks and the automatic pilot on the plane. He also tells the Shadow the guy went to Black Rock.

Next Lamont and Margo are in a plane going towards Black Rock. There are caves on the island that the crooks could be hiding in. The plane is the kind that can land in water. Lamont goes to the island, leaving Margo behind in the plane.

The crooks are talking. They are going towards a hidden boat. They are going to try to take over the plane. Then they hear the voice of the Shadow. Then he tells the crooks he's the Shadow. The crooks go to find Burket.

They find him in a cave. They tell him the Shadow is on Black Rock. Burket has Margo tied up. Their plan is to stay on the island until the heat is off. Then they hear the voice of the Shadow. Burket threatens to kill Margo.

The Shadow has destroyed their food supply. One of the crooks grabs some canned food, and Burket kills him. The other guy has a gun and Burket shoots him first. The Shadow has freed Margo. The Shadow tells Burket to surrender. The Shadow uses hypnotism on Burket to get him to drop his gun. Then he asks him where the money is.

He has Margo tie up Burket and then return to the plane. The Shadow tells him he has wrecked the guys boats, and the next day a Coast Guard vessel will pick them up.

Then it's back in the plane with Margo and Lamont. They have gotten the money back and will clear the innocent man.
