Death is Blind, 11-20-1938

The usual Blue coal commercial starts the show.

The story opens at a circus. Margo and Lamont are there. He hears the sounds of a shooting gallery. Some guy is shooting. There's also a Dr. Leighton who is talking to Walter, the boy. Margo doesn't trust the doctor.

The doctor supposedly trained the kid. He blindfolds Walter. The kid shoots a bulls-eye by focusing on a sound near the bulls-eye. Lamont is concerned that the Shadow would be almost powerless against a boy like that.

Walter is working with the doctor in his lab. The doctor's mad about something. He hears the voice of the Shadow. He tells the doctor that he shall be watching him. The doctor is paranoid.

Walter returns, and the doctor performs another experiment. He's supposed to drop some powder in a boiling liquid. He does and something goes wrong.

Then there's another Blue Coal commercial.

Some guy named Gates visits the doctor to discuss Walter, who will be totally blind for life. He says the company (that has something to do with Walter) should do nothing. He claims Walter spied on the company. It's the Jordan Company.

In the hospital Leighton talks to Walter about his blindness. He claims the men from the company refuse to help Walter. Gilmore, the men who talked to the doctor, is coming. Walter is to shoot him, and then put the gun in his hand.

The doctor is trying to pass off Gilmore's death as a suicide. A bigshot at the company gets shot next. Walter then shoots and kills a third man.

(The sound on this recording is rather poor.) Lamont and Margo are talking, and she tells him about the deaths. Lamont knows these were murder and not suicide.

Margo and Lamont are in a car. They visit Walter's home and she says Walter is with the doctor. Lamont is passing himself off as a newspaper man. He says he saw the hatred in Leighton's eyes. He realizes why the men were all shot in the mouth.

The Shadow goes to the doctor's place. He plans to cause the company's stock to plummet, and they he will buy the company. Then he hears the voice of the Shadow. Walter shoots at the Shadow's voice. The Shadow tries to talk to Walter and tell him that the doctor has been lying to him all along. Walter then shoots and kills the doctor. Walter then shoots and kills himself.
