The Shadow Strikes #18

Solomon is killed by the anti-gang thugs that were hired by the tunnel developer. The guy who was murdered was Moe Shrevnitz, the Shadow's agent who is his cab driver. The Shadow tells Moe he won't directly help, as he is busy with other matters, but he gives Moe time off, basically giving Moe the chance to do what he can about his brother.

Solomon's wife makes an impassioned speech to the strikers to keep the strike going. The thugs arrive to be up the group, but other workers appear and drive off the thugs. The thugs are claiming that the strikers are Communists.

There are some kind of papers that are important to the chief thug, and the Shadow tries to get hold of them.
