The Shadow Strikes #28

Lamont, Margo and Harry are in Hawaii. The story refers to Hawaii's royal family. Hawaii had its own government until American business interests managed to arrange for their removal and the U.S. ended up taking over Hawaii. There's a former silent film star that Margo likes, and the princess seems to like him also.

A group of drummers kill the princess during her performance of a hulu dance. The Shadow, Margo and Vincent give chase. Later the Shadow talks to an agent of his that works in Hawaii. Amelia Earhart is also associated with the Shadow.

It turns out the silent film star murdered the princess who had told him she wanted to die at the moment of her greatest joy and beauty. Then he ended up throwing himself off a cliff to die. Margo and Vincent make up and they all stay in Hawaii for a short time longer.
