The Shadow Year One #1

This is going to be an eight issue series about the earliest appearance of the Shadow and is going to be a mix of the radio version and the pulp version, with some other material thrown in.

This issue opens in Cambodia in 1929. A figure in partial disguise appears and kills a crook, then wants to find out where an American is being held. He also says 'crime is a toxic weed.it's bitter fruit yields only sorrow and death.'

The story moves on to reveal the first appearance of Margo Lane who is not a particularly nice person at the time. The Shadow, using the disguise of Lamont Cranston, returns to New York City.

Margo gets beat up a couple of times, but the second time the Shadow appears minus the traditional hat and cloak. It's a very good start to the series.
