Kwaidan

This is another book by Lafcadio Hearn, and is again filled with information on Japanese legends and culture. Two of the stories in the book are the same as two of them covered in the movie Kwaidan.

One of those is about Hoichi the Earless, and the other about a being named Yuki-Onna, the woman of the snow. Both are quite good stories.

There are several sections that deal with stories about insects, with a quite good one about some ants. Quite a few stories are relatively short, and through the book Hearn maintains his very readable and very interesting writing style.
