Spirit communication

When you die, your choices are very simple, although you may not be ready to make them, (due to your religious indoctrination). As you pass over, those in charge of the transformation will send those who have died before and are familiar to you, to greet your "entry". Then they dress up like whatever religious figures you are expecting to see. Some people even "burn in hell" until the actors get tired of it, pull off their 'devil masks' and ask if you are ready to get on with your eternity. It all depends on what you've been taught to expect.

According to one system of thought, your three choices are:

1) Immediately reincarnate

2) Stay on the astral for an indeterminate amount of time

3) Stay on earth as a spirit, and work with one or more humans who are incarnate

Progression as a soul is usually fastest if you reincarnate. It is usually slowest if you stay on the protected astral plane. If you're too determined to stay on the astral, yet not quite ready to reincarnate, you most likely choose to remain on earth as a spirit and work with a human "flesh guide".

The latter has its disadvantages. Most humans don't even realize they have spirit guides, much less work with them. So it often turns out to be quite a thankless job for many a disembodied spirit guide.

It has its advantages too, however. You may latch onto a human "flesh guide" who knows about your presence and work. Working together, you further one another's evolution as souls. The work proceeds faster and with more efficiency under the circumstances with recognition.

Where do they come from? Many sources provide these alliances:

One source is your ancestry. Souls who have chosen this path may search the gene pool of their race until they find a living individual who is empathetic or even recognizes them. So if some of your ancestors are Native American, you may be surrounded by Indians. If your ancestors are from the Ukraine, you may make contact with Cossacks.

Another source of spirit contact is geography. Spirits who were in the flesh, living where you now live, years ago, may contact and work with you.

Many connections are made by spirits. Perhaps the ancestral or geographical spirits attached to someone you know may jump ship and take up with you; realizing this connection through that person's physical proximity to you.

Once in a while, we are actually "with it" enough to connect with a spirit guide who has chosen us for the spiritual harmony we feel toward one another. These are the best relationships of these types, but once again, the human "flesh guides" are usually not aware enough to fully connect with their spirit guides.

We have already established 'why' we do it. Let us examine 'how':

There are initial exercises to help establish contact. One of them is as follows:

1) Turn out the lights in a quiet place and smudge it and yourself.

2) Light a candle (just for the light and a focus point).

3) Light some incense, if you like.

4) Recite this chant/prayer, or one of your own making:

"I am open

To contact with my chosen spirit guide

Come to me as I come to you

We are one"

5) Sit quietly and wait for the messages that come if you are truly receptive to them.

Trouble-shooting: Most people expect too much from spirit communication. We "blow off" too much from the spirit plane, thinking it is all our imaginations. Be open to the information that "comes to you" - especially that which does not seem to have anything to do with what is happening to you at the time.

Establish your own personal symbolism. Use it to interpret these messages and others you get from dreams, visions and synchronistic events. Work with them. They will work with you.
