Sweet Valley High #96: The Arrest

Liz is interrogated and the main problem is that she is unable to remember just what happened. This will not go good for her during any trial. We find out just who spiked Elizabeth and Sam's drinks, though.

Jessica thinks that everything that happened, including Sam's death, is all Elizabeth's fault. (This is basically very, very irrational thinking, indicating a person who suffers from wholesale denial of any sense of responsibility for anything.)

The tied-in plot about Margo continues as it's obvious that she is severely insane and sees nothing wrong with her murdering people and robbing people.

Liz gets released on bail and Jessica wants 'revenge' on her. Again, this shows just how out-of-touch with reality Jessica's thinking is. She even does some sabotage with a newspaper to get back at Liz. She even has more plans to get even. She has no intention of helping Liz in any way, shape or form.

There's a major development for Lila and Steven gets a new roommate.

This is an ultra-serious trilogy of books and goes totally against much earlier books in the series as far as the level of violence that is happening. It will be interesting to see what happens to Liz (will she be convicted?), will Margo be stopped and will Jessica ever get over herself and come back to reality?
