ELIZABETH SOLVES IT ALL
Elizabeth is working on the school newspaper, The Sixers. There's a contest going among schools for columnists and there's a really good prize for the school that wins.
So Elizabeth and the others on the paper come up with an idea for an advice column to be run by Elizabeth.
The book then goes into two areas, the first being Elizabeth and the column, the difficulties she encounters and some very major problems that arise.
The second theme is about Amy and her grandmother, their relationship and the problems her grandmother is encountering including simply not really taking care of herself.
There's also enough to pretty much label the Unicorns as school bullies.
Liz needs to learn about reasonable limits to trying to help others but ignoring your own needs. The Amy/grandmother theme is done very well. It's a book that is more than just reading about Liz and Jessica; it's a book that can cause readers to think about these situations and what they would do if they were in them.
