Gaby: Summer Girl

It's summer term and Gaby gets invited to a sleepover. His friends pressure him to go and Gaby has a very hard time refusing such pressure. He gets tricked into going to a disco as a girl, ends up in an all-female badminton tournament, spends days at an anime convention dressed as a girl, etc. Every time he swears he's giving up Gaby forever he somehow ends up dressing up as Gaby again.

Drew is injured while on his bike when a car pulls out in front of him. Maddie does some bike riding with him. There's also discussion at the school about exchange students.

Drew complains about dressing up as a girl but never really gives it up forever. Its noted that when in his Gaby persona Drew is much happier and has a lot of fun with the other girls when they do things together like the anime convention. His parents are not overly happy but then again they are not totally freaked out.

These books are also nice to read in that no one gets killed, there's no violence, no horror, just basically everyday life of a young boy that looks like a young girl even without dressing up (and is often mistaken for a girl by others he comes into contact with.)
