Xena Year One

Xena and Gabrielle are in a forest and are attacked by a bunch of thieves. It doesn't end well for the thieves. There's a flashback to when a man rescued a woman from a bull. She and the guy stayed together and she ended up pregnant. This led to Xena being born.

He gave Xena her first training, only to leave one day and never return. There's a bunch of thugs on the way and Xena convinces the men in the village that it's time to fight the bullies. They win the battle but Xena basically becomes imbued with a bloodlust which led to her early history of being a warrior princess. She had become a warlord in her own right.

(I looked something up on Google. Xena is not actually a princess as such.)

Ares had wanted her to kill Hercules. She didn't and that changed the path of her life from being an evil warlord to being someone who fights for justice.
