Wicked Willow III

In this final installment of the triology, Willow goes on the offensive against Buffy and company. She calls up demons that eat people alive; they paralyze them, then they rip off pieces of their skin and other body parts and eat them while the person is still alive.

Tara's ghost is still there and that issue is resolved.

SPOILER: In the end, though, everything returns to the ending in the TV series where Willow tries to call up a dark tower to destroy the earth and is stopped by Xander.

Which means, as far as I care, the trilogy is pretty much wasted. They started from where things were in the TV series and move to where things were in the TV series. As an "alternate reality" story, it doesn't work. All the meanness Willow was supposed to have was really save up for the final book in the series. The Willow of the first two books kept second-guessing herself to the point where she wasn't really evil; the Willow in the third book really is evil.

If they wanted to do an alternative reality story, then do that. I basically feel like I wasted my time reading the series.
