Eureka

Fangs for Freaks

This is the second book in the series and presented me with a problem. I saw this on sale and picked it up, but I had not yet obtained the first book in the series. It seems you really have to read the first book first because it has background that is not covered in the second book, such as what are half-bloods, exactly, and why do full vampires hate them so much?

Skipping over that problem for the moment, the main character is Colby Blanchard who is a half-blood and has been put in charge of a dormitory, of sorts, for half-blood girls, two of which are brought in in handcuffs, not starting out Colby's experience on a high note.

Colby has a boyfriend, Thomas, who is a regular vampire and is an investigator. Colby and the girls are subject to attack by regular vampires even though they are not supposed to be attacked, and there is a murder at the dorm itself that Colby and Thomas have to solve, so this book is basically a vampire-romance-mystery type of book. Overall it's pretty good.
