Ghost of a Chance

This book is by Katie Mac Alister and deals with a woman named Karma. It's an incredibly murder mystery that involves, of course, a dead person, but it also involves poltergeists (who have four arms), two delightfully gay male ghosts, a variety of imps, a unicorn that's a shape-shifter, a man named Adam who has been cheated out of his house by Karma's slimy husband, a woman who claims to dabble in the occult arts but is way more than she claims, and a sealed house situation.

All of the characters are fascinating (I especially like the imps and the scared shape-shifting unicorn). Karma's husband is murdered, and Adam takes the lead in trying to figure out who could possibly have killed him. Almost every single being (human or otherwise) in the house is a suspect (a lot of people hated her husband, including Karma).

It's a bunch of people almost all of whom had the motive, the opportunity and the means to kill Spider, Karma's husband. Before the mystery is solved we learn about the back-stories of the various, definitely interesting, characters, including Pixie, who Karma ends up with in a foster-child type of way.

This is one of the few books that I have read that I wanted to just keep reading it and nothing else until I finished it, it was that good.
