Hex Education

Sophie Stone is 14. Her mother and father have decided to move to Mythic, Massachusetts. Her father is a horror movie maker, and her mother is a costume designer. The town itself has a history of witchcraft and death. Sophie is very upset at being forced to relocate.

As with other books of this type, she finds out she has powers of her own, and a group of girls at school also are budding witches. They would prefer to use their abilities to conjure new clothes, but the history of the town reveals that every so often a dark force arises and basically destroys the town.

It's going to be their job to find out who, or what, this dark force is, and to learn enough actual witchcraft to be able to have the power to face the darkness and save the town.

There's nothing that really sets this book off from the many others of its kind. It's still a good book, but not really different.
