Ghost Town

This is the latest in the Morganville Vampires series of books and may be the best of them all. Some degree of semi-normalcy has been restored to the town, but the town's defenses need to be repaired. Myrnin (Merlin) and Clair end up fixing the machine that manages the defenses.

At first everything seems to be working but, gradually, people and vampires both begin to forget who they are, losing years from their memories. There's also political problems of a major nature in the town, and a major question of whether or not the machine can ever be fixed since Myrnin has gone completely whacko and now considers Claire a suitable snack.

There's a lot going on in this novel and it's all makes good reading.
