History of the World: The Salem Witch Trials

The book has a number of photos from the movie The Crucible to illustrate what it says about the trials. The book does a good job of summarizing what happened leading up to the trials, the trials, and the end of the trials. It also has something I have not seen in any adult-oriented book, and that is a table which is a breakdown of actual victims of the trials.

It concentrates on two areas, Salem and Andover. It says over a hundred were accused in Salem, and 67 in Andover. 19 were hung in Salem, 3 in Andover. One was pressed to death in Salem, none in Andover, and 4 died in prison in Salem, and 1 in Andover.

It's a well-done book for young readers.
