Flight

 

Hurtling through the night

Through tunnels and past mountains

This lonely midnight train

Carries me fast and far.

He is after me, he hunts me,

The man who murdered my husband.

And all for this locket that my love

Gave me our last night together.

Did he know its worth?

Did he know others would

Kill for its magickal properties?

Gods protect me from the man

Who once was my husband's

Best friend.

I hear footsteps in the passageway.

Someone coming.

I clasp the locket.
