Mousie's Prayer Beads

This is a section of photos and scans of my various prayer beads and rosaries. I do not (and do not have any plans to) sell beads to others. This is just to show what I have and what I have created.

My first Rosary, given to me by Sister Evelyn Ancilla, C.T. in October, 1978.  I have made a new set of prayers that can be used on the Catholic/Marian Rosary:

Good Shepherd Jesus Beads

These are rosary prayers for help and comfort. Bible quotes are mainly from the original Revised Standard Version, as this is what I learned when I was growing up and am used to. If you wish to use more inclusive language, substitute whatever works for you. As you get into the bulk of the beads, it is more mantra-like, with very short prayers.

On Cross:

I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me. I lay down my life for the sheep. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it up again.

On 1st Pater (large) Bead:

I am the door; if any one enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

On 1st Ave (small) Bead: Ask, and it will be given you

On 2nd Ave Bead: Seek, and you will find

On 3rd Ave Bead: Knock, and it will be opened to you.

On chain: For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

On each Pater Bead: Jesus is the Risen and Ever-Present Helper. To Him do I fly.

On each Ave Bead, 1st Decade: Jesus is Love, Jesus is near, Jesus heals.

On chain after each decade: I rest in You.

On each Ave Bead, 2nd Decade: Jesus is Love, Jesus is near, Jesus comforts.

On each Ave Bead, 3rd Decade: Jesus is Love, Jesus is near, Jesus gives rest.

On each Ave Bead, 4th Decade: Jesus is Love, Jesus is near, Jesus gives strength.

On each Ave Bead, 5th Decade: Jesus is Love, Jesus is near, Jesus answers prayer.

Closing Prayer, on centerpiece or join:

Jesus, Mary, and all the Holy Helpers watch over us and protect us now and forever. [Amen/Awen/So mote it be/Whatever works for you to close]

This is my Ganesha mala.

I bought it online a couple years ago. The beads are made of rosewood, and the mala is 27 beads long--1/4 of a full mala. You can use any of the Ganesha mantras on it.

Mousie's Springtime Healing Beads

I created this small set of beads, which doubles as a bracelet, on the first full day of Spring, March 21, 2007.

I am having neck problems at present and am getting physical therapy for it. Here are the various components of this set of beads and my thinking behind their use.

The pendant is Unakite, which is connected to the goddess Eostre, also called Ostara. She is the Goddess of the Radiant Dawn (and therefore New Beginnings). Although I probably "should" have chosen an amulet of Howlite or some other healing stone specifically for bones, this one called to me.

Unakite helps stimulate the health of the heart and circulatory systems (blood flow to the left shoulder area will help it heal). Unakite is also thought helpful in diagnosing elusive illnesses and helping to get to the root of the issue. Also, I always like to choose stones with green in them for healing.

The beads are wood. In Chinese astrology, wood is connected with the East (direction) and Spring (again, the dawn and new beginnings). There are 13 beads, in honour of the Goddess.

The spacer beads are copper (or copper-plated, I think). Copper is known to be good for arthritis and pulled muscles (the doctor says I probably have an inflamed trapezoidal muscle, and he also thinks I have some arthritis in my neck). Copper is a good conductor of energy (and therefore healing energy). It is associated with the goddesses Aphrodite, Astarte, and Ishtar.

Mousie's Springtime Healing Beads

On Unakite pendant:

Lady of Healing
Lady of Light
Send forth your healing
Into my body.

On each of 13 wood beads:

Peace and healing will come.
Healing flows to all the right places.
My neck and all of me is being healed.

To conclude, on the knot or cord:

In the name of the Lady, and the Lord, and All That Is. Awen.

Mousie's Blue Sky Beads

(These beads are for when a storm is approaching or is in progress--you can change the names for the quarter beads and anything else you want to change. This is a sort of combo sacred circle/spell/prayer. Use however you wish)

On anchor: My anchor is in the West.
My anchor is with Yanu and Aphrodite.
My anchor is in the West.

On each quarter bead: ____, Spirit Keeper of the ___, keep us safe.

(Yanu = West
Yunsu = North
Awahili = East
Tsistu = South)

On each of the blue beads:

Though storms and winds (may) do blow
Protection around us flows
Blue skies (will) come again
Blue skies (will) come again.

----------------------------------

For the West I used amethyst;
For the North I used howlite;
For the East I used citrine;
For the South I used ocean jasper.

The blue beads and little rainbow-y spacer beads are just glass, the anchor is sterling silver, and all is strung on waxed linen cord.
