Something's Going On

My main problem with this CD does not lie with Frida; it lies with whoever mixed the tracks. The musical background is way too loud on too may of the songs. It hurts some of the songs. If that had been corrected, this would have been a fantastic album instead of a really good one.

I love To Turn the Stone since it's mystical in nature, but again it's hurt, this time by too much musical background.

1. Tell Me it's Over: Really good. This could very easily have been an ABBA hit, in my opinion.

2. I See Red: Okay, but that's it.

3. I Got Something: A good song.

4. Strangers: Too much musical background on this one. Also too fancy a background, I think.

5. To Turn the Stone: Again too much musical material, but the singing is great and so are the lyrics. The song has a mystical feel to it.

The moon retreats behind a silver cloud
As darkness throws its cloak towards the earth
And mystery replaces what we thought we knew
To turn the stone.
The one dimension only shows one side
But do we see the same through different eyes?
As you and I peer into life's kaleidoscope
To turn the stone.
Eternal sands of time shiff endlessly
Behind a veil of motionless disguise
An eyelid flash is all it really seems to need
to turn the stone. x4

6. I Know There's Something Going On: Really, really good song.

7. Threnody: Another excellent song with excellent lyrics.

8. Baby Don't You Cry No More: Lyrics meanwhile in light of what happened to her during ABBA. Sort of a jazz song.

9. The Way You Do: The imbalance in music and singing levels is notable and hurts the song.

10. You Know What I Mean: Okay.

11. Here Well Stay: Duet and it works fairly well.
