Episode 5

The episode opens with Mikan's entering Ryousuke's apartment. Just before she's discovered Ryousuke's cell phone rings and it turns out that Ai wants to meet him at the beef bowl and rice place.

He leaves and Mikan leaves the lighter she bought for him on the table but without any kind of note. Meanwhile, at the restaurant, Ai is making a list of things she supposedly hates about Shimura. When Ryousuke gets there she asks if he still wants to go out with her, that she's given up on Shimura.

What they don't notice is that Mikan is outside the restaurant and watching them as they hold hands. Midorikawa sees her standing outside. Ouda, meanwhile, is worried about how she'll meet her caller in two weeks and pass as a young stewardess. She's 42.

Ryousuke tells Ai that he wants her to stay at his apartment as long as she wants to. Mikan's mother goes out on a date and the next day some of the girls at the school are making fun of Yuko, saying she's written a love letter to some guy but is too scared to give it to him. It turns out that it is Wataru she is interested in.

Ryousuke tries to talk Wataru into dating Yuko but he's not interested. Meanwhile Yuko's mother goes to the salon Ai works at in order to trim down and improve her physical appearance. Later Ryousuke sees Mikan and tells her he's waiting to take Ai to a restaurant. He uses the lighter Mikan left at his apartment while he's talking to her.

Once again, following the tried-and-true principles of unlawful entry, Mikan returns to Ryousuke's restaurant. Unknown to her, she's been followed by Midorikawa. Ryousuke and Ai are eating at a fancy restaurant and she keeps asking him questions about his ex-fiancee. Shimura calls her on her cell phone; he's also at the restaurant (with a woman, of course) and can see her and Ryousuke.

Ryousuke calls Ai on her cell phone (while she's still in his apartment), trying to get her and Midorikawa to his place for dinner some day. He's calling while he's driving, though. Midorikawa sees him pull up in his car while Mikan is still on her way down from his apartment. He tries to delay them to give Mikan enough time to get out. She ended up cleaning his apartment, causing him to think that Ai had cleaned it.

Sunday comes and Mikan and Midorikawa come to Ryousuke's apartment for the dinner. They end up watching a TV show which is the one with Shimura on. They also play a game, talking about the best and worst thing to happen to them. Wataru and the stewardess are due to meet in two days. Koda's been almost starving herself in order to lose weight.

Midorikawa gets Mikan a taxi, as she's rather drunk. He talks to her and says he knows she was the one who cleaned his apartment and she should really tell him how she feels about him. He tells her that she's scared she'll be hurt, and if she stays that way all she will get is unrequited love (like his love for her).

Ryousuke realizes that Ai does not really love him at all. Midorikawa goes to see his son but hides when his son walks by. Mikan calls Ryousuke and tells him she'd like to meet with him the next day. Meanwhile, the next day is when Wataru is supposed to meet the stewardess.

The next day Wataru and Koda are looking for each other, Mikan is on the way to talk to Ryousuke, and Shimura meets Ai outside the salon.
