Episode 9

This episode opens with him spotting Reiko and running after her. Instead of talking, though, she just runs away, jumps in a taxi and takes off. Meanwhile, Mikan is in the hospital with her mother. Apparently she has cancer and only has six more months to live. Koda's husband calls her (she's at a hotel) and tells her she has nothing to complain about.

Wataru's step-father is on him for the love hotel incident (they never made it inside, though; I still wonder what the police picked them up on); anyhow, Wataru speaks back. Meanwhile Reiko calls Ryousuke. The next day he meets with her.

She couldn't make it as a model, but the agency hired her as a translator. She learned to get along well in Paris and is returning there the next day. Ai tries to talk to Shimura but he's moved and no one knows where he's gone. Mikan and her mother talk. Her mother was acting younger than she was because she wanted to have one last fling, and she knows her daughter has never had a real boyfriend.

Mikan's mother talks to her some more to help her try to be happy. Ryousuke is questioning why he's a teacher, and Wataru tells Yuko that he doesn't want to continue dating her. Meanwhile Mikan returns to work and finds out that Koda is at the hotel.

Ryousuke goes to the beef-bowl shop with Wataru and finds out that Midorikawa quit. Wataru and Ryousuke talk and Ryousuke says that he has no idea where to find happiness. They meet with Midorikawa that night and go to get something to eat; meanwhile Koda and Mikan are eating together. Koda tells Mikan that she's so lonely she could die.

On the way home, Ryousuke, Midorikawa and Wataru see an obviously deranged Shimura tossing money in the air and trying to give it to people. Some guys attach Shimura and when the three go to rescue him, they all come under physical attack. Shimura is staying at the same hotel Mikan works at, and which she was having dinner with Koda. They watch as Shimura is helped in by the three guys.

In the room, Mikan and Koda tend to the guy's wounds. Then Ai shows up. Kimarua, meanwhile, is on the bed and refuses to speak. Ryousuke talks to him and says that everyone has their own secrets, and he suggests each person tell about one secret that they have. Ryousuke says he say his ex-fiancee yesterday and hadn't told Ai about it, and then he explains how his ex-fiancee is returning to Paris. He then reveals that, when he took his teacher's exam, he cheated.

Koda tells how she pretended to be a young stewardess. She explains that she got married because she was pregnant. Wataru explains how he pretended to be thirty years old and a designer. Midorikawa reveals that, when he was married, he got drunk many times and beat up Wataru. Ai says she realizes she is a "dreadful" person who only looks out for herself. Shimura interrupts before Mikan can finish talking, only getting out that she was a burglar, almost.

Ryousuke and Mikan talk later and she tells him how she got into his apartment. When Ai gets back to his apartment, Ryousuke tells her they should break off their relationship.
