Good Luck, episode 1

Shinkai, a co-pilot, (the actor was in Long Vacation and Hero) is relaxing on the beach.

The plane has a drunk and rather disorderly passenger on it.

But it turns out the whole thing was a training exercise (except for Shinkai being terribly late getting on board.)

As in the role he played on Hero, the main character has his own way of doing things, it seems, and doesn't always agree with everyone else.

The photography in this dorama is really excellent.

The Captain has been injured and Shinkai will need to land the plane himself. Since he hasn't been a co-pilot very long, this will be his first time ever landing a plane on his own. The landing is a little rough, but they still make it down ok.

Ogawa, the mechanic, is introduced to Shinkai after she chastize's him on the radio.

He no sooner gets off the plane then finds out he might be in trouble. The guy talking to him (Capt. Koda, an auditor) thinks he should quit and even says the pilot he's studying under is no good.

One of the workers tells Ogawa that she shouldn't talk to the pilot like she did, while one of the stewardesses tells Shinkai that his landing wasn't very good.

Shinkai is going on a different flight with a different pilot, and the pilot tells him that he hates him and that he has a bad reputation among the pilots.

Shinkai thinks there is a bird in the engine but Ogawa argues with him and says there is no problem.

Shinkai's pilot-mentor tells him that their next flight will be his last, that he plans to retire.

A sushi "machine." It's a moving conveyor belt that carries various kinds of sushi around the counter.

Shinkai goes to eat at a sushi place and Ogawa is there.

Capt. Koda now is going after Capt. Mizushima.

Apparently Shinkai has a younger brother. Their father does not seem to like Shinkai much, as it seems Shinkai ran away from home.

This is to be Mizushima's last flight but something goes wrong. They are supposed to be on a 9 hour flight to Los Angeles, but they are called on the radio and told that the Los Angeles airport is on fire and all planes are being diverted.

The announcement is made that the plane is going to return to Narita airport and a lot of people get really upset.

One guy get really nasty, demand to talk to the pilot and pushes one of the CA's (Cabin Assistants) to the floor.

Shinkai ends up yelling at the guy and finally talks him into returning to his seat.

Shinkai and Ogawa talk after the landing.

Capt. Koda suspends Shinkai for a week for leaving the cockpit even though he managed to stop the enraged passenger from trying to storm the cockpit itself.
