Good Luck, episode 8

Continuing from the ending of the last episode, Shinkai tells Ogawa about the plane crash. She says she's sorry and runs off.

Shinkai's got a charter flight with what looks like a group of schoolgirls.

Some of the kids want to see the cockpit but that's not allowed, so Shinkai makes a long announcement and tells them various things about the cockpit.

Ogawa gets hurt on her job.

Shinkai finds out more about what happened with Koda in the past.

Ogawa had asked her coworker to help keep her away from Shinkai which he at first does, then he seems to realize how much she really cares for him and the next time Shinkai comes looking for her he tells him where she is, which is at the airport clinic getting her hand cared for.

Ogawa finally tells Shinkai about her parents.

They also talk about how she should act towards Koda, knowing he is in a way connected to her parents' deaths. Shinkai then takes her to see his father and go out on a boat trip. Unfortunately, the boat is being used.

Meanwhile, Koda is being told to get over the past.

Shinkai's father prepares some sashimi for Shinkai and Ogawa.

Shinkai's father tells Ogawa about how Shinkai's mother died and he was still at sea and Shinkai had to take care of everything for ten days until he got back.

Ogawa confronts Koda.

She tries to give him back all the money he had sent over the years and asks why he did that since he wasn't the cause of the crash.

She explains to him about how the cause of the crash was mechanical and there is probably nothing he could have done to change the outcome.

She doesn't pull any punches, either.

She tells Shinkai she talked to Koda and then asks Shinkai to take her on his next flight.

They finally hold hands.

Now they are going to start emergency landing drills.

Ogawa is the last passenger (she must have been going through emotional terror during the drill). She goes down the shut but lands roughly; Koda starts to go after her and trips; Shinkai blocks him from falling but, in turn, falls over the side of the chute onto the hard floor.
