Trick 1, episode 4

Yamada is working at a restaurant where a guy tells her he has telepathic powers.

Two policemen, one the section chief, talk to Ueda. Apparently an entire village has vanished.

A policeman was sent to the village and found everyone gone. Something happened to him and he returns to the main station.

They then sent an entire investigative squad to check the village, but none of them returned.

Ueda comes back to Yamada’s apartment.

This is the guy that supposedly made the entire village disappear. He made some things disappear right in front of the officer. Ueda tells Yamada about the entire history of the guy. He claimed to be able to make things disappear but one day his trick was exposed. The village turned on him and he disappeared himself.

Yamada hits the nail on the head. Ueda is there only because he’s afraid to go to the village alone. The way he gets her to agree to come along is rather interesting.

Yamada’s mother at her calligraphy class that she teaches.

They get to the village but no one is there. Again.

They explore the area near the village and find something interesting.

Yamada sees a young girl but the girl disappears moments later.

They find Miracle Mitsui, the guy who supposedly made everyone vanish.

He then shows them a videotape of a show about him. Yamada is able to figure out the trick involved moving the camera.

He seems to make the policeman disappear (and supposedly all records of his existence.

One of the detectives from before shows up to help (sort of).

The professor finds something.

Yamada and the detective watch another videotape, this time with the professor in it.

They find what appears to be a headless professor.
