Grave Consequences

From the book Japanese Exclusion. Reprinted from Eastern Review, May 1924.

The author says basically that that if the Japanese keep getting treated so badly by the U.S., there will be consequences of some kind in the future.

Sometimes writers, though, can get the future really wrong. In this case, he predicted the uniting of China and Japan, and the exact opposite happened.
