This center was on the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds. It was occupied from April 30 to August 12, 1942 and held over 3,500 evacuees. (Maximum population of 3,661) After the evacuees left it was used as an Army rehabilitation center, whre army prisoners received special training and discipline before returning to military service. There are no historical markers and nothing left from the assembly center.
