Pocket Guide to New Caledonia

From Special Services Division, Army Service Forces, United States Army, 1943.

Another guide, this time to an area that had been freed of Japanese domination by the U.S. As usual, I'll only put a few highlights here.

The part I've noted talks about the lack of fever in New Caledonia. Fever was, of course, a major problem of the Pacific Theater for both sides.

A very interesting paragraph that examines what could have happened if New Caledonia had been taken and held by the Japanese.

This part discusses the minerals in New Caledonia and their value to the war effort.

This discusses the Japanese that lived in New Caledonia, and how they were moved off the island and taken to Australia.
