Invasion of Palau Islands

The target.

The island was used by the Japanese as a naval supply depot, basically.

Task Force 58 carrier planes attack the island.

Halsey's Third Fleet is also involved in the attack.

They bombed and shelled the islands for five days before the invasion.

They are attacking Peleliu island, (which turned out to be a horrible battle and, according to many historians, one that was not even necessary).

The video makes it sound like it was a normal invasion, with nothing really going seriously wrong..

U.S. forces work on getting the airstrip ready.
