Midway is East

The Japanese continue to attack throughout Southeast Asia. The fall of Bataan and Singapore is covered.

The Dolittle raid is very briefly referred to.

The Philippines fall.

The Battle of the Coral Sea is then covered briefly.

Nimitz makes the assumption that Midway is the next Japanese objective.

U.S. planes search for the approaching Japanese.

The Japanese attack Midway.

Planes take off from Midway to attack the Japanese carriers. They fail to do any damage, though.

The Japanese planes on their carriers have their armaments changed, and while they are doing this the U.S. carrier force planes attack. The first wave also does no damage to the Japanese.

The U.S. dive bombers begin to attack and sink the Japanese carriers.

Planes on the one remaining Japanese carrier launch to attack the U.S. carriers.

The Japanese attack the Yorktown.

While the Yorktown is being destroyed, the last Japanese carrier also meets its end.
