What, No Sushi?

This is a book for young readers about the internment of persons of Japanese ancestry during World War II.

In this case there are three brothers who have an archaeologist as a mother and an inventor as a father. The father creates a time machine so they can go back in time and meet a relative named Kimiko. She's a young girl at the time and she and her family are forced to relocate to the Granada internment camp.

The boys are to go with her to help her. She is, though, the only one that can see them. There's a fairly good description of what the camp looked like and what kinds of things were done and what problems the internees had to deal with. It's a sort of cute story and good as an introduction for young readers to the topic of the internment.
