ADAMS, Maude, professional name of Maude Kiskadden (1872–1953), American actor, born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She appeared in New York City in The Midnight Bell (1888), then spent three years with the Charles Frohman acting company. She played in The Masked Ball (1892) with John Drew, starred in The Little Minister (1896) by Sir James Matthew Barrie, and played the Duke of Reichstadt in L'aiglon (The Eaglet, 1900) by Edmond Rostand. From 1905 to 1907 she played the title role in Barrie's Peter Pan, probably her most popular performance. She retired at the height of her stage career after appearing in Rostand's Chantecler (1910–11). After 1937 she was instructor in drama at Stephens College, Columbia, Mo.
