Maude Adams and the Movies

Although Maude Adams was born in the 1800's, she was still present when movies were starting to become very popular. She was present during the silent film era and during the "talkies" times, also, yet she never appeared in a film.

It wasn't for lack of offers or reports of her going to be in films, though.

The Nebraska State Journal, May 27, 1938

The Oakland Tribune, Dec. 11, 1945

The first article states that Maude Adams was going to appear in a David Selznick film, "The Young in Heart." The next article says that the negotiations have failed, though, although next article follows up on that, saying that she had actually signed a contract to be in the movie.

Seven years later another article says that she has signed up to appear in a movie.
