Barney's Courtship - 1878

The play is by Harry Macarthy and is in one act. The plot is basic. Mollie wants to marry Barney but her mother opposes the match. She sets a condition for marriage that anyone wanting to marry Mollie basically had to be wealthy, which Barney is not. They is a lot of singing in the play and it ends with a duet between Mollie and Barney saying that they intend to run away across the sea to America.
