Inanna Dead?

The book goes into the history of Sumer and talks about their international trading and their development of the first written language among other things. Then it goes into the part of the story of Inanna where she goes into the underworld, having to pass through 7 gates and give up something at each gate, arriving at her destination nude and what happened to her after that.

The story is good but it's only a part of the rather rich literature on Inanna and the various stories that involved her and the various poems involving her. This is a decent book but there are others that have more information in them.
