Inanna

The book is basically a metaphysical fantasy. To get the most out of the book you need to know a little about Sumerian religion and Inanna, Irish mythology and Native American spirituality. Julie has a nice life planned for herself but it all falls apart.

She finds out she is going to have to work with others to make sure that the cosmic alignment that is coming up goes the way it should which will result in a world where peace finally arrives and people behave well towards others.

There are those that want to stop that from happening and they are a formidable force. She has visions that help guide her. She undergoes the heroes quest with the odds heavily stacked against her success.

There are two major questions that are to be answered; will she succeed in time and, if she succeeds, will the world become better.

There's a lot that goes on in this book and a good bit of it is not happy. Still, it's a good book, especially so if you are already familiar with Sumerian, Irish and Native American spiritual systems.
