Mary Magdalene - The First Christian: Companion of Jesus

A book that could have been made better by a careful editing. Some of the paragraphs make no sense at all. There are also misspellings, include the following rather interesting ones:

'Pilate confirms Jesus was a Jew with a plague he put on the cross himself.'

Yep. A plague. Not a plaque, a plague. It's repeated at least three times.

He also says that Jesus was never known to be involved with the Essences. Not the Essenes, the Essences, which is repeated multiple times.

There's even some that sound like Zen, somehow. "...when you do not know he (Jesus) is there you know he's there.'

Some of the points the author makes include:

Jesus did not write down his teachings.
He say no need for a physical church.
Mary was not allowed near the cross.
It was not Jesus on the cross.
The world was made not by God but by a demi-urge which is why so much evil goes on.
Eve is a metaphor for knowledge and understanding.
Jesus was a women's advocate.
Peter was jealous of Mary.

The book also is very, very plain in its quite negative view of Paul.

As I noted, if the book had been edited properly then it might have been quite interesting but, as it is written, it's confusing and not really worth getting.
