Gospel Problems and Discrepancies

The book starts off staying that none of the New Testament was actually written by someone who knew Jesus personally.

The Gospel of Matthew's author is unknown. Matthew was not a tax collector.

There is synonymous parallelism in prophetic writing in the old testament.

No prophet ever said that Jesus was actually a Nazarene. Nazareth is not mentioned in the Old Testament. The first mention in anything was after 200 AD.

Matthew was written in Aramaic and was written by a Jew. (This is determine from the specific things said and the type of writing.)

Jewish Christians said that Jesus never actually said he was the 'Son of God.'

Gentile Christians, though, said that he was the 'Son of God.'

One of the problems is that changes were made over time in the original writings and it's hard to know how much these changed from even older writings that have not yet been found but are assumed to have existed.

The King Jame Bible was written from the Greek version of the testaments which do have differences from the Hebrew version.

The Gospel of Matthew was written relatively shortly after the death of Jesus.

The Gospel of Luke, Acts and the Acts of the Apostles were originally one book.

The idea of the resurrection of Jesus was rejected by the Jews.

There were two separate sources involved in the making of the Gospel of John.

As to the Acts of the Apostles, the Western version of the text is anti-S emetic while the Alexandrian version was written for a Roman audience.

The book has a bibliography and footnotes.
