Haunted Tennessee

This is an extremely good book, especially so in that the author defines some terms first. He talks about ghostlore including materials that are both fact and fiction. He also lists 8 characteristics of “the person most likely to become a ghost”, along with more traits of a ghost.

One of the strangest ghosts includes that of a train, along with the ghost of a woman with multiple witnesses.

The book includes a chapter on the famous (or infamous, depending on how you look at it) Bell Witch.

The book also includes a very wide variety of hauntings that do not necessarily involve human beings. A very good book, the only complaint I have is that the chapter titles use a type of font that makes it difficult to read them.
