Sweet Valley Twins Todd Runs Away

The book centers on a major problem that Todd has. His father is pressuring him to work hard on the school's basketball team. His father had played basketball on his own school's team but an injury cut his career short so he is basically projecting what he wanted to be onto his son.

The problem is that a new creative writing class starts at school and Todd is chosen to be in it. At first he wants to get out of the program (it seems it was involuntary in nature), but once things start he realizes he really likes to write and the teacher agrees that Todd has talent.

The main problem is that Todd spends time on the course homework and devotes less focused time to the team and things go wrong leading his father to become quite angry with him. The pressure builds until Todd runs away.

o Todd has to figure out who is the one to satisfy; his own desire to write or his father's desire to have a major basketball player as a son. Of course, there could be some form of compromise. Maybe.
