Getafix has broken his golden sickle and he needs to get a new one for a Druid's meeting so Asterix and Obelix set off to get one from a master sickle-maker who, as things have it, has disappeared. It turns out Metallurgix, the sickle-maker, has been kidnapped.
Asterix and Obelix have to fight a variety of bandits and barbarians (one of whom speaks German and gives a Nazi salute) in order to rescue Metallurgix and get a new sickle for Getafix.
As usual, various groups are made fun off and there's lots of fighting (but no one ever dies; they might get beaten up, but they recover).
