Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes

This is one of the Beatrix Potter series of books, complete with colorful illustrations. It was first published in 1917.

There are several very short nursery tales in this book; one about a mouse, another about a rabbit, a guinea pig, a mole, a hedgehog, and a story that's a takeoff on the one about the little old woman who lived in a shoe.
