Wuthering High

Miranda is unhappy with her parent's divorce and her father's remarriage. She ends up causing quite a bit of trouble, including wrecking her father's car. As an act of correction/revenge, he sends her to Bard Academy, a high school on an island where the discipline is very strict, and where teenagers can't escape.

However, it's not a normal school. Not by any means. The teacher's go by names like Mr. H and Mrs. W. One teacher seems to constantly leave a trail of water behind her. There's a bad-boy type of guy who has taken an interest in her.

And there's a secret in the library, a secret that could destroy this reality and another reality, a reality that Miranda learns about and learns how she has a personal relationship with it in a way she never expected.

A really fascinating book, using a premise that is rarely used, and using it very well. A must read.
