The Betrayed

#14 in the Krewe of Hunters series. In the town of Sleepy Hallow, around Halloween, there seems to be a problem. There are statues of the Headless Horseman. The difficulty lies in the fact that, one by one, the statues start carrying human heads. The bodies tend to be somewhere else. The Krewe gets called in to work with a local woman.

Her name is Maureen who, along with her dog, is able to find missing people or, in this case, parts of missing people. The main victim is the one they center on, at least until another one shows up. There's also a growing attraction between Maureen and Aiden Mahoney, the man from the Krewe of Hunters.

This novel, along with the others in the series, are a mix of mystery, the paranormal and romance. The characters are very well done and it's easy to see in one's mind Maureen working with Rollo, her dog, and finding a dead body. There's so much to each of these books that it's hard to write much without giving things away. Just buy it and read it!
