The Captive

They try to find out where the dark energy went. They find out how the skull was found. Cassie finds the skull and takes it to Faye as she had demanded, and dark energy is released form the skull.

Faye's hold on Cassie increases, and Cassie cannot control her feelings for Adam. At a dance a kid is found hanging, but even with that another dance is scheduled.

The Henderson brothers and Cassie steal some pumpkins as Cassie's personality begins to alter. Cassie later finds a crystal, but it's from Black John's house ruins. The circle holds a vote and Faye is elected, with Cassie casting the deciding vote.

Cassie's mother and grandmother are attacked, and her grandmother dies, but not before telling Cassie about the history of the area and what Black John was up to and is going to try to do again.
