The House of Winter

This is the 11th book in the series. The girls go to an old hotel. There's supposed to be a ghost there, and a couple had died there previously. They're attending a major gathering of those interested in Wicca.

There will be a series of “paths,” study sessions. Annie is going to do the path of Death. Kate choses the Water path. Kate is worried about perhaps never being able to trust anyone again. A woman she talks to while blindfolded says her sister might be planning to kill her.

Nora and Lucy are twins, but Lucy doesn't like Nora, or anyone else, for that matter. The girls plus Nora decide to go on a ghost hunt. They see a ghost of a young girl who says she was murdered.

Kate learns that Lucy is the one who thinks her sister is going to kill her. Later, Nora claims Lucy is trying to kill her. The girls are drawn into a fierce battle for control, a battle of light vs. darkness. A battle that could cost them their lives.

This is a really good book in the series. The making of death masks and that ceremony was especially interesting.
