Davy Crockett and the Creek Indians

This is part of the Disney's American Frontier series and is the second book in a set about Davy Crockett.

This book deals with another of the many wars against Native Americans, this one against the Creeks. Some other tribes are fighting on the American side. The American side is headed by Andrew Jackson, who was to become the victor in the battle of New Orleans and eventually became the President.

This book shows how arrogant some of the leaders of the soldiers were, and how difficult the fighting conditions could be. It also shows how the volunteer fighters needed to take into consideration the needs of their families as well as the demands of the military.

This book shows to some degree just how vicious the attitude was towards some Native Americans. It was a dark period of American history and one that has never really been settled.
