Dial-a-Ghost

This is a really good and funny book.

First, there's an agency that finds homes for ghosts, which is a somewhat unusual thing to do. There are two primary ghost groups in the book; the Wilkinsons, who are a very nice group of ghosts, and the Shriekers, who are definitely not a nice ghostly duo.

Then there's Oliver, a boy in Children's Home who turns out to be inheriting a rather large, and slightly broken-down, old house. There are also two adults who thought they were going to inherit the house and need to get Oliver out of the way. What better way to do it then to hire some extremely nasty ghosts to scare the boy to death!

The one slight unanticipated problem, though, revolves around one of the workers at the ghost adoption agency that is color blind. The end result? The ghosts don't go where they think they are going. They need to adopt to their new circumstances; in one case it's easy, in the other impossible.

Then there's also the ghostly girl who doesn't really know who her parents are, and this becomes a a major factor later in the story.

There's nice ghastly bits , all sorts of humorous bits, and the whole thing weaves together well. Definitely an entertaining story.
