In the End

Denver is nuked at the opening of the story. Tori and her three-year-old daughter go to a cabin in the mountains near Denver to escape but they don't count on a character named Carl who is pretty much evil incarnate.

It turns out that terrorists nuked two cities but that leads to a full-scale nuclear war which they probably weren't counting on. The story deals with what happens to the small number of main characters. It's a fairly decent although very violent story.
