Martha Washington was married to George Washington, but that actually wasn't her first marriage. The book tells about her first marriage, her tragedies with children, her marriage to George Washington, and how she was with him at times during the Revolutionary War.
When he was elected President, she became the First Lady and proved to be a very good hostess.
